Th infants led the way. Then came the toddlers and the twos. But the real star of the 4th of July Parade was Maya.
The classes at the day care marched five laps around the parking lot. Wearing hats filled with stars and carrying banners and "torches" made from a twisted vine of colored stars, the kids were a delight to the parents in attendance (not a huge crowd with only a day's warning). The older kids and summer campers (including Owen) also lined the parade route.
